As a pioneer in robotic laser de-coating technology and an expert in complex and intelligent robotic technologies, Besnovo envisions to transform the aircraft paint stripping practice to reduce its environmental footprint and improve its efficiency.
Besnovo is seeking an experienced and motivated mechanical engineer to lead the design of various mechanical modules of Besnovo’s robotic laser de-coating system, including mobile vehicles and lifting mechanisms. This successful candidate will report to the CTO of Besnovo and lead mechanical design tasks.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design of mechanical modules of laser de-coating systems
Investigate and establish system requirements for the mechanical structures and actuation mechanisms of AGV, lifting mechanisms, and industrial gantries
Plan and lead the mechanical design in accordance with product requirements
Review and release mechanical drawings for fabrication
Select off-the-shelf mechanical components and materials for various projects
Communication with fabrication shops for product manufacturing
Lead quality inspection of outsourced mechanical parts
Mentor junior mechanical designers
Travel may be required for system testing and commissioning
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related fields; master’s degree and P.Eng. preferred.
Minimum of four (4) year of industrial experience in mechanical design and industrial automation
Minimum of four (4) years of experience of SolidWorks, FEA, and GD&T.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience of managing mechanical design teams.
Prior industry experience designing material handling equipment such as forklifts, excavators, hoists, cranes, etc.
Able to perform hand calculations to verify the mechanical and structural calculations.
Good understanding of the custom design of heavy steel fabricated machines.
Exposure to a multi-disciplined design: Mechanical, Software Design, Control and Manufacturing.
Experience in vehicle structure and industrial gantry structure design
Understanding of basic concepts electrical and mechatronic engineering
Strong written and oral communication skills
Team player who enjoys working in a vibrant and fast paced environment
